Global Entry

Global Entry is a program operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for pre-approved, low-risk travelers. After successful enrollment, members can use designated Global Entry procedures when entering the United States, which can make the entry process faster in many cases.

Target Group: Travelers who frequently enter the United States and may be eligible to participate in a Trusted Traveler Program. Eligibility depends on nationality and the applicable program requirements.

Benefits: With Global Entry, approved members can use designated automated procedures at participating airports when entering the United States. Depending on eligibility, members may also benefit from other Trusted Traveler Programs when traveling from the United States to certain countries.

Important Conditions: Enrollment in Global Entry is subject to review by CBP. Applicants must meet the program requirements and submit an application. After possible conditional approval, applicants generally need to attend an in-person interview as part of the final enrollment process. The final decision on enrollment is made by CBP.

When to Apply? An application can be submitted independently of a specific upcoming trip. Since processing times and interview availability vary, applying well in advance is recommended, particularly for travelers who visit the United States regularly.
