J-1 visa
For exchange, au pair & internship programmes
The J-1 visa allows temporary stays through approved exchange programs. These include high school exchange programs with host families, as well as programs for students, interns, trainees, and researchers. We support you in preparing your visa application and guide you through the application process.
Bookable options
For how many people are we preparing the application?
With the Priority Service we handle your application with priority – from the document check to booking your appointment.
- Priority review of your details and documents, usually within one working day
- Your DS-160 application is prepared first and sent to you for approval
- Earliest possible interview appointment – we regularly check whether earlier slots become available
- Priority responses from your personal contact by phone and email
Priority speeds up our processing. We have no influence on waiting times or decisions of the US consulate.
The SEVIS fee (form I-901) is a mandatory US government fee for students and exchange visitors. It must be paid before the visa interview.
- We pay the fee for you directly to the US Department of Homeland Security and advance the amount in euros
- For this we use your SEVIS ID and the details from your form I-20 (F-1/M-1) or DS-2019 (J-1)
- You receive the payment confirmation for your interview appointment
If your school or host organisation has already paid the fee, simply deselect this option.
